
Managing stress in the weight room can be just what the doctor ordered.
Four more years of the Orange Man in the White House will weigh on Canadians and I know one way to help mitigate that stress.
I’m keenly aware that no matter what we as individuals do, it will not stop or end whatever terrible thing he is doing in his position as United States president.
Trump’s going to do what Trump’s going to do, which is line his own pockets, continue his grift and continue his streak of being the most morally bankrupt human being on the face of the planet.
That said, there is one good way to help stop your mind from running in circles over this alleged human being's actions.
And that way, dear readers, is with some endorphins that were put there by strength training.
Never, have I ever, come out of a workout feeling worse than when I went in. No matter how gruelling or how much my body parts hurt, I always, always, always feel better about my mindset and my stress management after my workout.
As an ADHD-er, daily movement is paramount for my mental health and my physical well-being, but it’s not just for me.
You, dear readers, have the opportunity to start yourself off on the right foot for the next four years of ‘He did what?!!’ and it’s so easy. Making 45 minutes for yourself a couple of times a week to start lifting heavy things will put you on a path to success immediately.
Immediately.
That’s because movement is medicine. The more you move, the more you want to move. Fact.
You will have more energy. Fact.
Exercise will create endorphins. Fact. Those endorphins will create a feeling of well-being, confidence and placidity.
Nothing like it. Fact.
If you’ve read this far, you are probably aware of these facts. I’ve repeated them ad nauseum. I’m aware.
But, I can’t emphasize it enough. Move to feel better, and the more you move, the better you’ll feel.
